The Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management Agency takes a proactive role in potential disasters and emergencies, either natural or manmade, for the purposes of "Preparedness, Response, Recovery, Mitigation and Security" of Cheyenne and Laramie County and it citizens. The goal of the Emergency Management is to bring together a strong team of agency representatives whose early involvement in an event will expedite the coordination of local resources to assist an impacted area.

Mobile Interagency Command Post
With the assistance of Homeland Security Funding, the Emergency Management Agency purchased a vehicle designed to enhance command and control, dispatch and logistical support for large scale incidents. The vehicle is also designed to be an alternate dispatch center. The vehicle has been used on many occasions and continues to assist response services.
